There are a few new injury concerns for Munster’s medical staff.
Johan Van Graan will take charge next week for his first game against the Italians which will be soon followed by his first home game against the Ospreys on December 2nd at Irish Independent Park.
Rassie Erasmus and Jaques Nienaber have returned home to South Africa after finishing their time with the Province.
Darren Sweetnam earned his first International cap at the weekend against South Africa whilst Andrew Conway, Dave Kilcoyne, Conor Murray, Peter O’Mahony, CJ Stander and John Ryan all featured for Ireland in the record victory. Ryan has since returned to Munster to continue rehab on a calf injury picked up in the game.
Keith Earls and Tommy O’Donnell weren’t involved at the weekend due to respective injuries and Earls has returned to Limerick to continue rehab on the hamstring issue he sustained whilst training with Ireland. O’Donnell sprained his AC joint and will continue to work with Ireland to be ready in tim for their final November International.
Brian Scott and James Cronin started in the Barbarians win over Tonga in Thomond Park on Friday last, with Cronin having to leave the field after 10 minutes after tearing a calf muscle.
Jack O’Donoghue is progressing well after picking up an ankle knock against the Dragons.
There were also a number of Munster representative’s in AIL last weekend including Sam Arnold, fresh from a brace with the senior side against the Welsh outfit, who started in Garryowen’s 6-3 win over Young Munster on Friday night.
Stephen Fitzgerald and Ciaran Parker also started for Shannon in their first loss of the season at Forenaughts against Naas on Saturday afternoon.
