After a stellar year where he won an U20s Six Nations Grand Slam and made his Munster debut, Craig Casey has been nominated for RTÉ Sportsperson of the Year.
While Casey has found his chances limited thus far this season with Munster with Lions scrum-half Conor Murray ahead of him in the pecking order, the future is certainly bright for the 20-year-old.
Casey is one of 11 nominated for the award which will be announced on December 14.
Darragh Maloney and Joanne Cantwell will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2019 live on RTÉ One that night at 9.20pm.
The Sportsperson of the Year award as well as the Young Sportsperson of the Year, Team of the Year and Manager of the Year awards will be presented and there will be a new inductee to the RTÉ Sport Hall of Fame.
