Murray fit to face Benetton after neck injury scare

Conor Murray resumed training with Munster today after the neck injury he picked up in the warm against Connacht on Saturday proved to be minor.

The scrum half was removed from the starting lineup in the 27-14 win as a precaution moments before kick off but took a full part in training today.

Munster head coach Johann van Graan confirmed that he Murray is fit for the Pro14 quarter final against Benetton this coming Saturday.

Van Graan also added that Keith Earls and Joey Carbery will resume full training on Tuesday in a bid to be fit for the knockout game at Thomond Park.

The duo missed both the Champions Cup semi final defeat to Saracens and the win over Connacht due to thigh and hamstring injuries respectively.

If they come through tomorrow’s session and the rest of the week’s training, both will be in contention for a starting spot against Benetton. The game at Thomond Park on Saturday has a 3pm kick off.
