It has been a lengthy wait for both sides since their semi-final wins in late October with 42 days from the semis to final.
Na Piarsaigh and Croagh Kilfinny will end a six-week wait for their final clash this Sunday when they meet in the Limerick Intermediate decider.
Ballyagran will host the clash of recently defeated finalists with throw-in at 1pm. The clash will bring to an end the Limerick adult championships with all other competitions concluded over the past number of weeks.
Both successfully navigated their semi-final clashes on October 23 but have had to wait with Na Piarsaigh winning both the senior hurling and intermediate football titles and subsequently going on to feature in two Munster championship campaigns. Their footballers are into the Munster intermediate final a week after the hurling clash this weekend.
Six weeks ago, both continued their 100% start to the campaign with differing last four wins. Last year’s beaten finalists Croagh Kilfinny were 1-21 to 0-12 winners over Pallasgreen. Na Piarsaigh were pushed all the way in theirs, scraping past Granagh Ballingarry 0-17 to 0-16.
That was enough to book their place in the final where they were bested by Newcastle West in 2020 after extra time. Effin overcame Croagh Kilfinny in the decider twelve months ago with the West side coming into the game as junior champions following a perfect 2020 campaign.
The reward for the winner will be a place in the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship with both yet to appear at that grade of Limerick hurling before.
