We now know the final pairings in the Senior, Premier Intermediate and Intermediate championships, as well as in the Senior Hurling Cup.
It was a busy weekend across the Limerick hurling championships, with games being played in a number of tiers. Following the conclusion of the latest round, we now know the final pairings in the Senior, Premier Intermediate and Intermediate championships, as well as in the Senior Hurling Cup.
Patrickswell ran out ten-point winners over Kilmallock in the Senior semi-final, their game being streamed live on Limerick GAA TV.
Aaron Gillane struck 1-4 from play, the Well’s other goal coming through John Kirby, while Robbie Hanley raised both of Kilmallock’s green flags.
Eamonn Kelly’s men quickly built up a lead, and Kilmallock simply couldn’t deal with them, and trailed by seven at the interval.
Despite the Balbec enjoying a promising start to the second-half, it wasn’t long before Kirby had the ball in the net to dampen spirits.
While Kilmallock seemed too far adrift to muster a comeback, they continued to plug away, but any hope was wiped out when Gillane goaled near full-time.
Kelly’s men have set up a repeat of the 2019 final, when they defeated the reigning champions Na Piarsaigh.
The 2022 winners got over Doon on Saturday, the game being dramatically decided on penalties, and they now have a chance to land their eighth SHC title.
Kevin Downes scored the decisive penalty to win the shootout, the first of it’s kind at this level in Limerick.

There was also Senior Hurling Cup action, as Ahane beat Adare and Monaleen got over South Liberties to set up a meeting in the final.
Blackrock picked up a five-point win over Effin in the semi-final of the Premier Intermediate championship. As a result they will face Dromin Athlacca in the final, who finished two points to the good in their clash with Bruff.
In the Intermediate championship, Croagh Kilfinny were comfortable ten-point winners over Hospital Herbertstown, securing their spot in the final. They will meet Granagh Ballingarry, who won a goal-laiden 73-point affair by the minimum against Murroe Boher.
The Intermediate relegation final was also packed with drama, the game going all the way to penalties, before Jack Fitzgibbon nailed the winning strike to keep Feohanagh Castlemahon up, and send Knockaderry down to Junior for 2024.
