Na Piarsaigh too strong for Doon as they secure second win of the year | Saturday Round Up

Na Piarsaigh’s meeting with Doon was the sole Senior clash, while there were a host of PIHC, IHC and JHC games on offer Saturday.

Na Piarsaigh proved much too strong for Doon when they met in the Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday, running out 19-point winners in front of the Limerick GAA TV cameras.

The defending champions fired four first-half goals, courtesy of Adrian Breen, Conor Boylan and Ronan Lynch.

The goal spree meant they held a 13-point lead at the interval, which they would build on in the second-half.

Boylan and Breen added some more fine scores after the break, as Na Piarsaigh eased their way to their third victory of the year.

Doon on the other hand are struggling, with just one win so far this year, and will be disappointed with their return.

Saturday’s action saw wins for Newcastle West, Dromin Athlacca and Effin in the PIHC, all winning rather comfortably.

The results strengthen Effin’s position at the top of the group, while Dromin Athlacca and Newcastle West sit third and fourth respectively, both with four points.

A huge clash awaits Effin in two weeks time, as they meet second placed Bruff.

Kilmallock and Bruree managed to get over the line in the County Intermediate Hurling Championship, defeating Pallasgreen and Knockaderry.

Elsewhere, in the Junior A championship there were wins for Caherline, Crecora Manister, Killeedy and Feenagh Kilmeedy.
