Newcastle West and Ahane seal semi final spots in Senior Camogie Championship

The sides who contested the 2019 final remain undefeated.

Newcastle West and Ahane continued their perfect starts to the season as they made it two from two in the Limerick Senior Camogie Championship.

The wins also confirmed their progress to the semi finals with a round to spare.

In group one, following their win over 2002 champions Killeedy in round one, Ahane were 0-16 to 0-4 winners over Crecora. Elsewhere, Killeedy got back on track with a dominant 3-20 to 0-6 win over Cappamore. The West Limerick side face Crecora in the final round where the winners will progress to the semi finals. Cappamore will finish bottom regardless of their result with Ahane who are assured of top spot.

In group two, Newcastle West saw off round one winners Granagh Ballingarry to seal first place with a game to spare. The reigning champions were 1-15 to 0-9 victors. In the other tie, Bruff and Na Piarsaigh played out a 0-10 apiece draw. That result means any of Bruff, Na Piarsaigh or Granagh Ballingarry can join Newcastle West in the last four. Granagh Ballingarry play Bruff in the final round while Na Piarsaigh have NCW for company.

Those games take place on Saturday 17 September.
