O’Brien added to Limerick senior hurlers coaching ticket

John Kiely has added Broadford, Co Clare native, Aonghus O’Brien, to his management team for the coming season.

O’Brien played for Clare in the past and was a coach when Davy Fitzgerald managed Clare in 2016 alongside current Limerick senior coach Paul Kinnerk.

He also coached the Brian Ryan managed Limerick’s minor hurling team. when they won a Munster title in 2013.

That team included the likes of Richie English, Sean Finn, Darragh O’Donovan, Cian Lynch and Tom Morrissey, all of who won a senior All-Ireland with Limerick last August.

Jimmy Quilty has left the management team since that All-Ireland victory and O’Brien was on the sideline during Limerick’s defeat to Tipperary in the Munster Senior Hurling League last Friday.

Limerick Senior Hurling Management 2019: John Kiely (Manager) Paul Kinnerk, Joe O’Connor, Brian Geary, Alan Cunningham and Aonghus O’Brien.
