Paddy Donovan will make his professional boxing debut on October 11th

The Ennis man (who trained out of Our Lady of Lourdes Boxing Club during his Amateur days) will fight at Belfast’s Ulster Hall as part of an MTK Global show headlined by a flyweight fight between double Olympic Bronze medalist Paddy Barnes and Jay Harris.

Donovan, who signed a deal with American Promoter Top Rank earlier this summer, features a number of stellar pros and prospects on their books including Tyson Fury, Carl Frampton and Michael Conlan.

Speaking on the announcement Donovan said:

“The Ulster Hall is an iconic boxing venue and I’m excited to be making my debut there in front of the Belfast crowd, My goal is to be a world champion and there’s no better place than Belfast to start this journey.”

Under the guidance of his trainer and manager in former WBO World Champion Andy Lee, It’s understood that Donovan will make his debut at Welterweight with an opponent yet to be confirmed.

Lee added:

“Paddy is an exceptional talent. He has all the ingredients to become a world champion. It’s exciting to work with him and help him fulfil his dream.
