Parrott Moves to Ipswich Town on loan

Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott has signed for League One club Ipswich Town on loan on transfer deadline day. Parrott spent the first half of the season with English Championship club Millwall but struggled with injuries and the deal was cut short.

Parrott will spend the rest of the season hoping to aid Ipswich Town’s promotion push under former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert. The Tractor Boys are currently four points outside the play-off places but have won just one game in their last five outings.

The 18-year-old has been touted as a future key member of the Ireland senior side and will be hoping to benefit from a prolonged run of games before the upcoming 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign. Former Limerick FC manager Stuart Taylor is currently assistant to Lambert with the Suffolk based club.

The striker will join fellow Irish trio Mark McGuinness, Stephen Ward and Alan Judge at the club.
