Patrickswell are back in the Limerick SHC Final after a two year absence following a 2-14 to 0-15 win over Doon at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
Goals in either half by Kevin O’Brien and Jason Gillane helped Ciarán Carey’s men to a well deserved victory.
The sides were level four times in the opening 13 minutes with Dean Coleman and Aaron Gillane trading frees.
Doon had two early chances for goals but the shots of Darragh Stapleton and Pat Ryan hit the woodwork.
A Jack Ryan point put Doon ahead on 14 minutes, however, Patrickswell hit the front when Kevin O’Brien’s shot took a deflection off Eoin Fitzgibbon’s hurley and into the net.
Doon responded well with a Dean Coleman free and Pat Ryan’s second free of the half to level the game for a fifth time at 1-4 to 0-7.
However, points from Diarmaid Byrnes and Kevin O’Brien saw the ‘Well into a two point lead at the break.
Patrickswell then had a superb start to the second half when Jason Gillane buried their second goal of the game after taking Kevin O’Brien’s pin point pass.
Ciarán Carey’s men continued to press home their advantage as the second half continued and were comfortable victors on a 2-14 to 0-15.
