Peter Nash and Paul Maher named on GAA.ie Tailteann Cup Team of the Week

With the teams heading into the interval level at 0-8 apiece, it was Adare native Maher that raised the games only green flag.

Limerick pair Paul Maher and Peter Nash have been included in this week’s Tailteann Cup team of the Week after helping the Shannonsiders in the quarter-finals.

Maher got the crucial goal in Netwatch Cullen Park with Nash kicking four of Limerick’s final five scores in the routine 1-19 to 0-14 win.

With the teams heading into the interval level at 0-8 apiece, it was Adare native Maher that raised the games only green flag and gave the visitors a cushion they wouldn’t relinquish with Nash taking his personal tally to 0-5 in the second period.

Limerick now face Wicklow in the final round, knowing they are already assured of their place in the quarter-finals as group winners.

Last week, Brian Donavan and Cathal Downes were named on the Tailteann Cup team of the week following the round one win over Longford.

Limerick are one of six teams with two players chosen with Antrim, Down, Cavan, Fermanagh and Longford also having a pair selected. There is one each from Laois, Meath and Offaly.
