Peter Stringer signs six month contract with Worcester Warriors and could face Munster in preseason.
The former Munster scrum half is no stranger to premiership sides having already played for four in Saracens, Sale, Bath and Newcastle after departing the province in 2011 in search of regular game time.
Former Munster team mate, Donnacha O’Callaghan, joined the Warriors in 2015 and the 98 times capped Irish scrum half is looking forward to joining up with him and his new team.
“I’m looking forward to meeting all the lads and being reunited with Donnacha,”
“I’m feeling as fit and ready as ever and am genuinely excited about getting back on the field as I feel I still have plenty to offer.”
Munster travel to Worcester on the 24th of August to face Stringers new side in a preseason friendly. With a few of O’Callaghans and Stringers former team mates now coaching the province, it’s sure to be an odd but exciting return.
Stringer has been signed as cover for South African international Francois Hougaard due to his involvement in the Rugby Championship at the beginning of the season.
