Plenty of new faces as Billy Lee names Limerick Senior Football panel

There were plenty of fresh faces named last night as Limerick Senior Football manager Billy Lee named his Limerick squad for the upcoming League and Championship campaigns. Monaleen goalkeeper, Donal O’Sullivan was named the captain of the 33-man-squad.

Iain Corbett relinquishes the captaincy after two years as he will miss the League as he is on a tour of duty in Lebanon. Paul White of Rathkeale and Kilteely-Dromkeen’s Sean O’Dea will both act as Vice-Captains for the year ahead.

Adare are rewarded for a stellar season that saw them clinch a maiden Senior Football championship as they provide four players to the panel. Gerald Griffins and Fr Casyes both have three members selected and in total there are 20 different clubs represented in the squad.

Overall there are 19 players who featured in the previous two league and championship campaigns that are no longer involved for varying reasons. However, there are 10 members of last years exciting u21 squad included in what appears to be the most attacking panel in years.

Limerick kick off their Division 4 campaign next Saturday with a trip to Laois as they look to gain promotion back to Division 3 after being relegated in 2016.
