Limerick would fall in the semi-finals and are looking for a place in the decider for the first time since 2010.
Tipperary were victorious in the sides previous meeting in 2014 as they ran out 2-14 to 1-11 winners in the LIT Gaelic Grounds.
Tipp beat Clare 2-11 to 1-11 in their respective quarter final last weekend with Conor Sweeney and Bill Maher getting the goals.
They also won their two league games after the lockdown to preserve their Division 3 status.
Limerick have won their last two games after losing their first game after the restart.

They were comfortable 2-14 to 0-9 winners over Waterford in Dungarven last Saturday.
