PREVIEW | Limerick look to kickstart their Camogie championship as they welcome Offaly

Limerick’s Senior Camogie team are still looking to get their Championship campaign up and running after losses to Galway and Kilkenny.

The Shannonsiders currently sit bottom of their group after two games, but with a game against Offaly on Saturday they will look to get their first points in the table.

It will be their first home game of the championship having had to the past two winners of the All-Ireland in their opening pair of contests.

These sides have already met in a crucial game this year with the Leinster side relegating Limerick in their League play-off earlier this year.

John Lillis has named his side for the weekend’s clash with two changes from the Kilkenny defeat with Sarah O’Brien and Caroline Brennan coming into the forwards

Offaly have also had a disappointing opening to their Championship campaign as they have lost their opening games.

They currently sit 5th in the table only due to points difference

Limerick will come into this game with the relegation play off in April still fresh in the mind.

In Birr, Offaly claimed a 3-10 to 1-13 win to preserve their status and condemn Limerick to the second tier.

Offaly might be the perfect opponent for John Lillis’s struggling side to kick back into gear as they are playing for both pride and their championship futures.

With that being said Offaly will also be looking to grab at any chance they could to get rid their stumbling start and look to push on in the group.

The game will also be live streamed for anyone who cannot make it to Cappamore.

Watch Limerick v Offaly

The game takes place at 5pm at Cappamore in Limerick on Saturday the 11th.
