PREVIEW: Limerick Minor Footballers seek first Munster final since 1998

Joe Lee’s Limerick Minor Footballers welcome Clare to the LIT Gaelic Grounds tonight in the Munster semi-final.

The winners will face Kerry after they beat Cork 0-21 to 1-15 AET last night.

Limerick haven’t reached a final in the grade since 1998 while Clare are looking to appear in a third decider in four years.

Both sides had comfortable quarter-final victories on Saturday afternoon.

Limerick were 2-12 to 1-5 winners over Waterford whilst Clare had twenty points to spare in a 1-24 to 1-4 win against Tipperary.

These sides met in the first round of the championship last summer as Clare ran out convincing 3-15 to 0-10 winners in Newcastle West.

For Limerick, captain Eoin McGrath and Frank Corcoran are the only survivors from that team with both starting tonight.

Joe Lee has made two changes to the side that beat Waterford for tonight’s clash.

Limerick haven’t beaten Clare in the championship since 2008 with the Banner winning each of the eight games in the meantime.

They will enter the game as favourites but did have to concede home advantage with no suitable venue available.

The game will be streamed live by Stream Sport Ireland, Sporting Limerick’s sister company and can be found following the link below.
