QUIZ | Can you name the players that started the 2007 All-Ireland Hurling Final between Limerick and Kilkenny

A Croke Park date awaits the long term rivals in the All-Ireland final next Sunday.

For the first time in fifteen years and tenth overall, Limerick and Kilkenny will do battle with the Liam MacCarthy on the line next Sunday in Croke Park.

The Shannonsiders are looking for a three in a row of titles while Kilkenny haven’t won since 2015, a famine in the marble county.

They are way out in front in terms of overall championships won on 36, ahead of Cork (30) and Tipperary (28).

Limerick are the only other team on double digits, reaching that mark last August with their tenth triumph as they retained the title for the first ever time.

In 2007, Kilkenny overcame a spirited Limerick side who were seen as rank outsiders coming into the championship but saw off the likes of Tipperary, Clare and Waterford en route to the decider.

But a brace of goals inside seven minutes as good as killed off the game as Kilkenny retained their title before going on to complete a four-in-a-row.

Today, with the final just nine days away, we want you to cast your mind back to ’07 and see how many of the 30 players that started that day can you name?

Best of luck.
