Rassie Erasmus confirmed as new Springboks coach

South Africa have confirmed that Rassie Erasmus as their new head coach, combined with his role as Director of Rugby.

The former head of Munster Rugby has signed a contract until the end of the 2023 World Cup.

The 45 year-old will have Jacques Nienaber, Pieter de Villiers and Mzwandile Stick as his assistant coaches, while Aled Walters will join the management team as head of athletic performance.

The Springboks parted ways with their former head coach, Allister Coetzee in January.

Their season begins on June 2 with a Test game against Wales before welcoming England for a three match series the following week.
