RESULTS: Limerick Club Football Championships kick off with a bang

The 2021 Limerick Club Football Championships kicked off over the weekend.

Adare picked up where they left off with last year’s champions having a comfortable 1-13 to 0-6 win over Oola on Sunday evening.

On the same night, last year’s finalists Ballylanders fell to Claughaun who were crowned Intermediate champions in 2020 with the goals proving the difference for the city side in the 3-6 to 0-14 win.

Ballysteen defeated near neighbours St Kierans by a single point in a thriller in the Bog Garden while Newcastle West held off the challenge of Galbally on Saturday evening.

There was just one game played in the Intermediate championship as St Senans were comfortable 3-13 to 0-7 winners over bruff.

Elsewhere there were wins for Fr Caseys, Monagea, Croom and Castlemahon in the new Premier Junior Championship.

Meanwhile Camogue Rovers, Ballybricken Bohermore and Mungret St Pauls in the Junior A Championship.

  • Croom 1-11 v 0-5 Ballybrown, Group 2 in Ballybrown.
  • Mountcollins 1-10 v 0-14 Castlemahon, Group 1 in Dromcollogher.
