Return of injured trio boosts Munster ahead of Ulster visit

Munster will welcome back Billy Holland, Kevin O’Byrne and Niall Scannell to their squad this week after the trio returned to training on Monday.

Keith Earls is also in contention to play against Ulster this Saturday after recovering from a knock that kept him out of Munster’s defeat to Cardiff Blues last week.

Munster were back training at the High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick today after the 37-13 defeat. The ‘A’ team fared better with a comfortable victory against Dragons A in Cork.

There are no new injury worries from the Cardiff and Dragons games but Rhys Marshall has undergone a scan on the calf injury that he picked up in training last week and forced him to also miss the trip to Wales.

Several players continue to rehab their injuries with the Munster medical team. There is still no timeline on when Conor Murray will return from the neck injury that has kept him sidelined so far this season but Munster Forwards Coach Jerry Flannery says that his rehabilitation is progressing well.

Elsewhere: John Ryan (Ankle), Liam O’Connor (Knee), Conor Oliver (Toe), Jack O’Donoghue (Knee), Chris Farrell (Knee), Neil Cronin (Shoulder), James Hart (Knee), and Ronan O’Mahony (Ankle) are still out of action.
