Round-Up | All six Limerick sides suffer defeat in disappointing fourth round of Energia AIL

Four of the six teams from Limerick are yet to find a win from their opening four matches of the campaign.

As the Energia All-Ireland League made its return after a week away the six Limerick sides remained off the boil with all sides stumbling to defeat on Saturday.

In Division 1A, Shannon remain bottom of the table after their 27-9 away defeat to Clontarf, despite leading 9-3 at the half-time interval. Mike Cooke placed three penalties for Shannon in the first-half to give them their lead but four tries in the second half from the reigning champions handed them their fourth loss from four.

It was a home defeat for Young Munster as they were beaten 20-13 by Lansdowne at Tom Clifford Park. Dan Walsh got the only try for The Cookies while Conor Hayes converted and added two more penalties after a scoreless first half for the team. The result means Young Munster remain in fifth place.

The provincial derby between Garryowen and Cork Constitution swung in the Cork sides favour with the game ending 33-16. Tries from JJ O’Neil and Tommy O’Hora on top of Jack Oliver’s two penalties proved insufficient for the side as they still look for their first win.

In Division 2A, UL Bohemians were close to completing a dramatic second half comeback as they lost 27-24 despite being 24-0 down at the break against Dolphin. Ignacio Garcia scored three tries for the Limerick side while Joe Murray got one with Harry Byrne adding two conversions.

Disappointment for Old Crescent sees them at the foot of the table following their 15-9 home defeat to Navan. Ronan McKenna kicked three penalties for the Rosbrien side.

In Division 2C, Bruff moved up two places despite losing 17-11 away to Bangor. Paul Collins was the main-man for Bruff as he notched a try and two penalties.
