Ruthless Na Piarsaigh dispatch Blackrock to book Munster Final date with Ballygunner

Limerick senior champions Na Piarsaigh simply had too much for Cork’s Blackrock at the Gaelic Grounds running out 22 point winners on a scoreline of 2-26 to 0-10 points.

Na Piarsaigh will now contest a fourth Munster club SHC final since 2011 and will meet Waterford’s Ballygunner who got the better of Sixmilebridge in the other semi final.

The Waterford side over came the Clare champions 1-18 to 1-17 in Walsh Park to progress to the Munster Club Final on Sunday 19th of November with Thurles the likely venue.

It will be a re-run of the 2015 Munster showpiece that say Na Piarsaigh win out by seven points on the day on their way to a first All Ireland crown.

Today’s semi-final was one-way traffic from the off with three points for Na Piarsaigh coming inside three minutes, as Ronan Lynch lead the scoring charge.

Lynch – who was instrumental in Limerick’s U21 success – ended the day with 15 points – three from play and the remainder from placed balls.

Shane O’Neill’s side build an insurmoutnable 2-11 to 0-6 lead heading into the break. Their lead was in part down to two quick fire goals within two minutes of each other. First up Peter Casey raised the green flag, followed quickly by David Breen to make it 2-8 to 0-4 after only 16 minutes.

Blackrock frees from Michael O’Halloran helped eat in to the deficit but Casey responded with further scores to ensure Na Piarsaigh would maintain their advantage.

After the break Ronan Lynch, Kevin Downes and Conor Boylan picked up where they left off with further scores.

Blackrock points from O’Halloran, Alan O’Callaghan and sub Liam O’Sullivan did little to stem the tide as Na Piarsaigh march on relentlessly towards a fourth provincial final.
