Ryan’s ladies fall to heavy loss against rampant Tipp

John Ryan’s ladies football side fell to a 10-22 to 0-4 loss to Tipperary in the Munster LGFA Championship opener at Semple Stadium.

Limerick were up against it before the game and Tipperary lived up to their star billing.

Australian Women’s Football League Star Aishling Moloney was in excellent form for Tipperary and her creativity and prowess by helping her side into a 3-9 to 0-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Tipperary’s goals coming from Aisling McCarthy, Anna Rose Kennedy and Anna Carey.

Limerick eventually got on the board through a Catriona Davis free but Tipperary upped the pace again and Moloney fired in their fourth goal to help them to a 4-13 to 0-3 half time advantage.

Moloney finished with a first half total of 1-8 and she was at it again early in the second half with Tipperary’s fifth goal.

Caoimhe Condon, Angela McGuigan (2) and Moloney (2) added further goals for Tipperary and they cruised to a 10-22 to 0-4 win.

Scorers for Limerick: Catriona Davis 0-2 (1f), Mairead Kavanagh and Ava Hartigan 0-1 each.
