Blow for Treaty United as Sean McSweeney signs for Shelbourne

Treaty United have lost the services of a key player for next season with the news that Sean McSweeney has signed for Airtricity League Premier Division side Shelbourne.

The Dublin club have announced the news ahead of their return to the top flight following their league title victory in 2021. They are now under the management of former Irish international Damien Duff.

McSweeney will be a loss to Tommy Barrett’s side as he was the top scorer and a key player in the attacking third.

The 24-year-old has also represented Limerick FC in the past, as well as a stint with the Limerick senior footballers in 2020.

The Foynes native has welcomed the news and the new challenge which awaits him.

McSweeney also thanked Treaty United for the opportunity last season and wished his hometown club the best for the new season.
