Seven Limerick players named in Team of the Week

After a comprehensive 12-point Munster Final victory at the expense of Tipperary in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday, Limerick have seven players named in the Official GAA team of the week.

Mike Casey, Declan Hannon and Diarmaid Byrnes are named among the backs as they kept a dangerous Tipperary forward unit relatively quiet throughout yesterday’s encounter.

Cian Lynch’s return to midfield was a huge catalyst in the win and he is named there in the team.

Goalscorers Kyle Hayes and Peter Casey are selected in the forwards as is Tom Morrissey.

That trio contributed 2-11 from play between them, nearly outscoring the whole Tipperary squad.

Peter Casey, who was named man of the match was also nominated for Hurler of the Week which is voted for on Instagram!

Wexford and Laois are also recognised for their respective Leinster and Joe McDonagh triumphs, making up the rest of the star studded XV.
