Shane Kelly names 32-man Limerick U20 Football Panel

The Newcastle West native takes over the squad which is captained by Fr Caseys’ Diarmuid Buckley.

Shane Kelly has named his 32-man Limerick U20 Football Panel for the 2023 season which begins with the Liam O’Connor Cup before the start of the championship in April.

Limerick will have Leinster opposition in the Liam O’Connor Cup and home advantage for their Munster Championship quarter-final against Waterford on April 10. If they win then they will travel to Cork the following week.

Kelly can call upon a number of the side that featured in the Munster quarter-final win over Waterford last year including vice-captain David O’Shaughnessy. He hit the net in that win, as did Darragh Murray who remains on the side. Elsewhere, Eoin McGrath, Aaron Neville, Emmet Rigter, Padhraic McMahon, Darragh Bridgeman, Zach McCarthy and Garry Sheehan all played in that 2020 quarter-final.

McGrath, McMahon, Murray, Bridgeman and O’Shaughnessy all started in the win over Waterford in the 2020 Munster Minor football quarter-final in the Gaelic Grounds.

Kelly has also chosen an extensive backroom team.
