Garryown’s time in the top tier of the AIL came to an end after they were beaten by their Limerick rivals in Dooradoyle.
There were Limerick derby wins for both Shannon and UL Bohemian, as Garryowen are relegated from the top flight of Irish rugby for the second time.
Shannon’s 26-16 away win at Dooradoyle, ended any hope that Garryowen had of staying in Division 1A of the All Ireland League. Dan Hurley, Jordan Prenderville, and Alan Flannery scored tries for Shannon. Mike Cooke kicked three penalties and a conversion. Michael Mbaud scored a try for Garryowen and Tony Butler converted and added three penalties.
Young Munster took another step towards a playoff place with a 21-0 home win over Ballynahinch. Patrick Campbell and Shay McCarthy scored tries for “The Cookies” and they were also awarded a penalty try. Evan Cusack kicked two conversions.

Dolphin are now at the foot of the 2A table after UL Bohemian defeated Old Crescent 18-17 at Takumi Park. Alan Kiely and Ritchie Wallace scored tries for UL Bohs and Harry Byrne kicked a conversion and two penalties. Old Crescent replied with tries from Casey Tanyi and Cathal O’Reilly, with Ronan McKenna converting both and also adding a penalty.
Bruff lost 27-5 away to Ballina. Shane Duggan scored Bruff’s try.
In the Women’s All Ireland Cup series UL Bohemian proved too strong for Ballincollig running out 74-0 winners.
