Six goal Na Piarsaigh thrash Kilmallock as SHC gets back underway

Na Piarsaigh got the defence of the Bon Secours Limerick SHC back on track with a resounding 6-15 to 2-11 win over Kilmallock at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

Michael Ryan’s side led 4-5 to 1-8 at the break thanks to two goals from Peter Casey and one each from Will Henn and Conor Boylan. Paudie O’Brien provided Kilmallock’s goal.

Goals from Kevin Ryan and Shane Dowling followed for the Caherdavin side in the second half as they cruised to a 16-point win.

The victory puts Na Piarsiagh on four points, with two wins and a defeat to Patrickswell from their three games to date.

It took less than a minute for Casey to open the scoring for Na Piarsaigh following good work from Henn and Will O’Donoghue.

He didn’t take long to bag a second three pointer to put his side seven clear with just over 10 minutes on the clock.

Kilmallock’s response to the second goal was impressive with Robbie Henley and Kevin O’Donnell points followed up by O’Brien’s goal.

Kilmallock then hit the front through an O’Donnell long range point, but Na Piarsiagh hit back to lead 4-5 to 1-8 at half time thanks to Casey and Henn goals.

Casey began the half with two points in response to a Gavin O’Mahony free. Dowling, David Dempsey and Casey points then put Na Piarsaigh 4-10 to 1-10 in front.

Oisin O’Reilly then bagged a goal for the Balbec, but efforts from Ryan and Dowling saw Na Piarsaigh to an impressive win.
