Six Munster players named in Irish Women’s squad for November Internationals

All conquering UL Bohemian Women’s Rugby team have been recognised for their achievements by having five players named in the Irish squad for their November games against the USA and England.

Fiona Reidy, Nicole Cronin, Ciara Griffin, Eimear Considine and Laura Sheehan are the UL Bohs players named in Adam Griggs’ squad for the tests.

Bantry’s Enya Breen is the other Munster player included but former Irish captain Niamh Briggs has not made the cut despite being fully fit.

Griggs said: “Niamh Briggs has missed out on the squad at the moment. I sat down with her and we went over some performance goals for her moving forward. It’s one of those really difficult situations and conversations.

“You have to be open and honest about it. We set down some challenges for Niamh and she has every chance of coming back into selection for the Six Nations if she can go away and tick some of those boxes with the challenge that has been put in front of her.”

Ireland play the USA in Donnybrook on Sunday, November 18 at 1pm and then England at Twickenham on Saturday, November 24 at 5:40pm.
