Something for the Weekend | The return of the National Football the pick of the bunch

This weekend is full of good sport from GAA to rugby to basketball to golf.

An exciting weekend of sport is in store for fans with a little something for a casual viewer as well. There is the return of the National Football Leagues with a full set of fixtures across the four divisions with Limerick taking on Longford in Division 3. Elsewhere, there is URC action, premiership games in soccer and the Conference Championship games in the NFL.

Friday

Golf takes place as the Torrey Pines Farmers Insurance Open continues. The day of play will go on from 4pm-1am on Sky Sports Golf.

Rugby gets underway for the weekend as Ulster face off against the Scarlets in the URC at 7:35pm on Premier Sport 1. Dragons vs Benneton is on at the same time on Premier Sport 2.

Soccer gets underway in the Football Championship. Huddersfield vs Stoke City takes place at 7:45pm on Sky Sports Football.

Saturday

Early Saturday morning we have Golf. Viewable on Sky Sports Golf, 5am-1.30pm. The tournament is the Emirates GC Dubai Desert Classic.

Next there will be Tennis from 8am until 1pm. The Melbourne Australian Open will begin to conclude as the Women’s Singles Final followed by the Men’s Doubles Final will be played.

Darts will be shown throughout the day on ITV 4 from 12.45pm-5pm and 7pm-11pm. The Masters take place in Milton Keynes.

Rugby and the URC is back as the Lions take on the Bulls at 1pm on Premier Sports 2.

GAA will be shown on TG4, at 1pm Kilkerrin-Clonberne v Mourneabbey face off in the Woman’s Football Club Final. Two Men’s Football Club Semi-Finals will take place after, Finbarr’s vs Kilcoo at 3pm followed by Padraig Pearse’s v Kilmacud Crokes at 5pm.

More from Rugby as Connacht take on Glasgow at 2.55pm in URC. The game will be shown on RTE2 and Premier Sports 1. Zebre and Munster are next up in the URC as they clash at 5pm and you can find the game on RTE2 and Premier Sports 1. The Last game of the day in the URC falls to Leinster’s clash against Cardiff at 7:35pm. The game will be shown on TG4

At 7:30 Dublin Face off against Armagh in the GAA Football league. You can find the match on RTE2.

Sunday

Tennis opens up the day early with the conclusion of the Australian open at 4am up until 6pm. The Woman’s Doubles Final takes place on Eurosport. The Men’s Final will follow after up until 12:45.

The Darts Masters continue, the games will be shown from 12:45pm-5pm, 7pm-11pm on ITV4.

Soccer takes place in the Football Championship, at 1:30pm Derby County v Birmingham City clash. At 4pm Cardiff city take on Nottingham Forrest. You can find the Matches on Sky Sports Football.

GAA takes place on TG4. In the football there are two games taking place. At 1:45pm Mayo vs Donegal takes place, Followed by Tyrone v Monaghan at 3:45pm.

Rugby from the English Premier League as Sale vs Leicester. The Match will be shown BT Sport 1 at 3pm.

International Soccer is up next as Egypt take on Morocco in the African Cup of Nations Quarter-Final. The Match will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League at 3pm. Followed by the second Quarter-Final between Senegal v Equatorial Guinea. The match will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League at 7pm.

NBA action takes place early as the Lakers take on the Hawks at 6pm. Shortly after the Trailblazers take on the Bulls at 8:30pm. You can watch this on Sky Sports Arena.

Typical for a late Sunday there is two clashes in the NFL. In the AFC Conference Championship game, the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Kansas City Chief’s. The game will be on at 8pm. The NFC Conference Championship game follows after as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams. This game takes place at 11:30pm.

All the GAA highlights from the day will be shown from 9:30-11:30pm on RTE2.
