Squad Update | Munster’s Jason Jenkins returns to full team training

Munster Rugby’s newest signing Jason Jenkins will join full team training for the first time since joining the club in March.

It’s good news for Munster fans as South African Lock Jason Jenkins joins full team training, Jenkins has been undergoing rehab for a shoulder injury since he joined the province from the Japanese club Toyota Verblitz in March.

Munster Prop James French is continuing the return-to-play protocols for a concussion under the supervision of the Munster medical department.

Players continuing their rehab are prop Roman Salanoa with a knee injury, prop Liam O’Connor with a neck injury and centre Chris Farrell who is at the latter stages with an abdomen injury.

Eight Munster players in action for their club sides on the opening weekend of the Men’s AIL season, John Hodnett made his return to club action off the bench for UCC after a lengthy injury lay-off in their loss to Terenure College.

Liam Coombes ran in two tries for Garryowen in their win over Dublin University, with back-row Jack Daly also starting the clash. Neil Cronin and Academy duo of Mark Donnelly and Cian Hurley featured off the bench.

Seán French and Alex McHenry started for reigning champions Cork Constitution in their nail biting defeat to Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium back pitch.

On Saturday, Munster’s Damian de Allende completed his 2021 Rugby Championship campaign with a superb performance for the South African Springboks against the All Blacks, scoring one try for the winners.

Munster travel to Wales ahead of Sunday’s round three United Rugby Championship game away to Scarlets at 2pm, The game is live on on URC TV, RTÉ, S4C, Premier Sports & SuperSport.
