Super Blues boosted by four new signings

Limerick FC have started planning for live in the second tier of League of Ireland football with the re-signing of Sean Russell.

The midfielder has previously had two spells with the Super Blues in 2015 and 2016 and is Tommy Barrett’s first signing since the club was relegated to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division last month.

Limerick have also announced that U-19 players Adam Foley and Ger Barry have signed deals to stay at the club, as has experienced full back Shaun Kelly.

Commenting on the signings of the young duo and further targets, Barrett said:

“I am delighted to have the two young lads on board and both have done well at U19 level with an eye for goal and will have benefited from the taste of Premier Division football last year.

“I’m hoping to sign some more experienced players as well as more of the talented young local players in the coming weeks. “

The signing of Russell, Kelly, Foley and Barry come a week after the exit of Limerick captain Shane Duggan to Waterford and Cian Coleman to St Patrick’s Athletic.
