“They are making it incredibly hard to whittle it down” – Easterby

Ireland forwards coach Simon Easterby says that he and the rest of the coaching staff are facing a difficult task when they have to make cuts to the squad for this year’s World Cup in Japan.

The 45-strong group of players have been putting in a huge amount of work over the last few weeks and Easterby knows that some big decisions lie ahead.

“The way the players have gone in the last few weeks they are making it incredibly hard on us to whittle them down.

“They are all working really hard together and for each other on the pitch and also enjoying time off the pitch.

“They are all enjoying the build up, but just around the corner is Italy and things start to become a bit tougher in terms of us having to make a few decisions on selection.”
