Time and date confirmed for Limerick’s Tailteann Cup quarter final with Laois

The sides most recent encounter came in the 2022 National Football League where Limerick secured a one-point win to maintain their promotion push.

Throw in for Limerick’s Tailteann Cup quarter final has been confirmed for 3pm this Saturday in the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Mark Fitzgerald’s men take on Laois with a place in the Croke Park semi-final the following weekend on offer.

Limerick earned home advantage by virtue of topping their group which also saw them receive a bye into the quarter-finals outright. Laois on the other hand beat Fermanagh on the road in their preliminary quarter on Saturday.

The Leinster side will come into the game as the form side following that result with Limerick losing in their most recent encounter, the final round dead rubber defeat to Wicklow in Portlaoise.

This is Limerick’s first venture to the Tailteann Cup as they reached the Munster final 12 months ago before being knockout out of the Sam Maguire race by Cork in the qualifiers. This is also Laois’ first quarter-final after they were beaten by eventual champions Westmeath in the first round last year.

The sides most recent encounter came in the 2022 National Football League where Limerick secured a one-point win to maintain their promotion push into the final round of games. They will both be in Division 3 of the league in 2024 following the Shannonsider’s relegation.
