The 22-year-old joins after an eighteen month spell at Wexford, where he made a total of 28 appearances.
Treaty United have announced the signing of former Wexford FC and Shamrock Rovers player Jordon Tallon. The 22-year-old joins after an eighteen month spell at Wexford, where he made a total of 28 appearances.
The Carlow native is highly rated from his time in Shamrock Rovers’ academy, where he played alongside current United player Andy Spain for Rovers II. A centre-half by trade, Tallon is capable of playing in midfield, and will no doubt be a valuable addition to Tommy Barrett’s squad, especially following Anto O’Donnell’s departure to Australia. Speaking to Treaty United following the move, Tallon spoke of his excitement.
“I’m delighted to sign for Treaty United, and I’m buzzing to get started with the lads for a big push in the second half of the season and get them play off places. Also, I got stick off the Treaty fans in the reverse fixture down in Ferrycarrig so I’m buzzing to play in front of them as they had a great atmosphere!”
Naturally right-footed, Tallon could form an exciting partnership at the heart of defence with the left-footed Darren Nwankwo, who has been excelling this season. They would form a perfectly balanced defensive unit, adept with pace, power, and ball playing ability. Barrett also has the option of Spain in central defence, who already knows Tallon from their time together in the Shamrock Rovers academy, and they could well spark up a successful partnership themselves.
In other news, the club have confirmed that Alec Byrne has departed the club after making 19 appearances since joining in February.
Treaty are in action Friday night as they travel to Mounthawk Park to take on Kerry FC, and the side will be back in Limerick for the clash with Waterford FC on July 14. The Limerick outfit currently sit in sixth, five points off the play off places.
