Treaty United have been drawn at home to Premier Division outfit UCD in the FAI Cup quarter-final. The draw took place on Tuesday evening and re-unites both Treaty and UCD after last season’s two legged play-off semi-final which culminated in a narrow victory for the Dublin outfit. Fixture details will be released in the coming days.
Treaty reached the quarter-final by beating two Leinster Senior League outfits Usher Celtic and most recently Maynooth University Town last weekend. Enda Curran, Willie Armshaw and Lee Devitt were on the scoresheet for Tommy Barrett’s side. UCD defeated Galway United 2-3 last weekend to reach the last 8.
The last time a senior Limerick outfit met UCD in the FAU Cup quarter-final was in 2006 when a Danny Drew led Limerick FC lost 3-1 to the Students at Belfield Park. It is Treaty’s second year in the competition and they now have a huge opportunity to make a semi-final in front of the RTE cameras.
