Treaty United drop to third after Cabinteely defeat

Treaty United drop a place in the First Division of the SSE Airtricty League after the loss on Friday night.

Cabinteely picked up a first win in seven as they beat Treaty United 4-1 in the Markets Feld on Friday night.

High flying Treaty fell behind to an early Cabinteely goal with Vilius Labutis tapping in from close range. That lead was doubled on 20 minutes as Marty Waters struck from outside the area.

Clyde O’Connell grabbed one back on the stroke of half time, heading home from Marc Ludden’s corner.

Ten minutes into the second half however O’Connell received his marching orders after giving away a penalty. Kevin Knight made no mistake from the spot as the Dublin side regained their two point lead.

Cabinteely put the game to bed on 65′ as Niall Barnes got his sides fourth of day.

Cabo had a chance to further enhance their led but missed a penalty in the dying minutes of the game.

The defeat sees Shelbourne move ten points clear at the top of the table with Treaty and Galway deadlocked on 32 points.

Treaty travel to Bray this Friday looking to get back to winning ways.
