Treaty United Fixtures Announced For 2021 First Division Season

There was great reason for Limerick soccer fans to get excited this afternoon as the SSE Airtricity League revealed Treaty United’s fixtures for the upcoming season.

Treaty United competed in the Women’s National League last season and were last week rewarded with a license for the men’s League of Ireland First Division by the FAI after a long process.

It is an incredibly competitive league this season which will see the Limerick side come up against the likes of Cork City, Shelbourne, Bray Wanderers and a John Caulfield managed Galway United. It will be the first time Limerick has had a senior football team since Limerick FC competed in the same league back in 2019.

Tommy Barrett’s men will open their campaign away to Bray Wanderers on the 26th of March before staging their first match at Market’s Field a week later against Wexford. There will be an all Munster derby on the 23rd of April as Cork City come to Garryowen to meet the new Limerick outfit.

Player signings and friendly fixtures are expected to be announced by Treaty United in the coming weeks.
