The sides have met before, and Treaty went unbeaten in their first season in senior football against their Munster rivals.
League of Ireland First Division action returns to Markets Field at 7.45pm on Friday night, as Treaty United welcome Cork City in a top of the table clash.
Both sides are unbeaten this city, with the Leesiders three points ahead of Tommy Barrett’s men, having played a game extra after Treaty’s clash with Longford was postponed last week.
It was a routine 2-0 win over Bray Wanderers for City last time, adding to their victories over Longford, UCD and Kerry FC that kicked off their campaign.
The sides have met before, and Treaty went unbeaten in their first season in senior football against their Munster rivals.
A 2-1 win for the Limerick club was followed by a 3-2 victory at Turners Cross in the 2021 season, before playing out a 0-0 to close the season’s meetings at the Markets Field.
The following year makes bad reading for United fans, City picking up 4-0, 3-0 and 5-0 wins over the Shannonsiders.
There was however a victor for Barrett’s side that year, as Treaty turned up at Turners Cross and left with a surprise 2-0 victory courtesy of goals from Ben O’Riordan and Marc Ludden.
Treaty United fans can enjoy a beer and a burger for €10 at Treaty City Brewery prior to the game, located at 24 & 25 Nicholas St, medieval Quarter, V94 EH57.
Kick off is at 7.45pm in Markets Field, get your tickets here.
