Treaty United will face Premier Division UCD on Friday September 16th at the Markets Field in the Extra.ie FAI Cup quarter-final. The game will take place at 7.45 as Treaty contest their first ever last 8 tie and look to reach the last four which would be a televised game.
Treaty got to the quarter-final stage by beating two Leinster Senior League outfits. Tommy Barrett’s side had a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Usher Celtic before beating Maynooth University Town two weeks ago at John Hyland Park. Enda Curran, Lee Devitt and Willie Armshaw were on target in a 0-3 win.
Last season, UCD defeated Treaty in a two legged promotion play-off. Revenge may be on the mind and Curran is looking forward to pitting his wits against the Students on Friday week.
“I wasn’t here last year but it was a chance for us to get back at UCD. They are a good side and I watched them against Galway United. We fancy ourselves against anyone and who knows we could be looking forward to a semi-final”
