Treaty United’s Michaela Lawrence collected the award in a ceremony in Dublin on Wednesday evening.
After helping her side to the U17 Women’s National League title last month, Michaela Lawrence has been recognised for her stellar season by picking up the player of the season award.
Treaty beat Peamount United in November to capture the U17s title in just their second year with Lawrence describing the season as unbelievable as she accepted the POTY prize.
And the underage international has her sights set on Vera Pauw’s set up as she alluded to her own growth but also the young talent coming through in the league.
“My future goal is to make the senior international squad. But the talent coming through, even to be here with this award today is phenomenal.”
Reflecting in the aftermath of the ceremony, Lawrence highlighted how attention has already shifted to next season.
“I’m over the moon to receive the player of the year award. This wouldn’t be possible without the team and staff I have behind me, who pushed me this season to be the best I can be on and off the field.
“The support from parents and others has been overwhelming for me and made me feel like I really belong in the club, which I am very grateful for.
“I’m really looking forward to playing again next season and really pushing on. The hard work starts again now.”
