Barrett guided Treaty United to the First Division Play-Offs for the second successive season.
Treaty United’s Tommy Barrett has been nominated for the 2022 PFA Ireland First Division Manager of the Year.
The Limerick native is nominated for the second successive season joining Longford Town’s Gary Cronin and Cork City’s Colin Healy in the three-man shortlist for the accolade.
Barrett was at the helm as Treaty reached the play-offs for the second season running. Treaty were eventually beaten by Waterford, 7-4 on aggregate to bring their season to a close. The Limerick side also reached the last four of the FAI Cup where they were knocked out by eventual champions Derry City.
Cronin led Longford Town to a fourth placed finish in the table as they were defeated by Galway United in the play-offs while Healy saw his side return to the top tier as they finished first ahead of Waterford.
Last year, Barrett lost out to Shelbourne’s Ian Morris as they were promoted to the Premier Division. This year’s winner will be announced on November 19th.
Elsewhere, Treaty United striker Enda Curran is in the running for the First Division Player of the Year award after hitting double digits in his maiden season with the club.
Last week he was named in the Team of the Year alongside fellow POTY nominees Phoenix Patterson and Stephen Walsh.
