TUS Gaelic Grounds set for Limerick SHC Final between Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock

The two sides will head for the Ennis Road in a fortnight’s time in a repeat of the 2017 decider.

The TUS Gaelic Grounds will reopen for the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship final in a fortnight’s time for the final clash of Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock.

The Ennis Rd venue has been closed throughout the championship to allow for a resurfacing but has been confirmed for the October 30 SHC final.

Kilmallock needed a last minute Robbie Egan goal to get past Doon on Sunday in the second of the weekend’s semi-finals as they snatched a 1-13 to 2-9 victory.

Na Piarsaigh booked their place in the final on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 1-23 to 0-9 win over South Liberties.

The two sides will meet in the decider for the first time since 2017 when Na Piarsaigh were 1-22 to 2-14 victors to claim the Daly Cup title.

Their last meeting in the knockout stages came in 2019 when Na Piarsaigh booked their place in the final for the third successive season with a 0-23 to 0-18 victory.

This will be the third final clash between the pair with Kilmallock the winners in the 2014 decider by virtue of a 1-15 to 0-14 win.

Elsewhere, Bruff and Monaleen moved one step closer to promotion as they came through their respective semi-finals over the weekend.

They will meet in the Premier Intermediate final on October 29 in Kilmallock.

The Intermediate and Junior Championships are down to the semi-final stage.
