TUS Gaelic Grounds to host Limerick’s NHL semi-final with Tipperary

Limerick secured their place in the knockout stages on Sunday with a straightforward win over Wexford with Kyle Hayes and Aaron Gillane hitting the net.

The TUS Gaelic Grounds has been confirmed for this Saturday’s National Hurling League semi-final between Limerick and Tipperary with throw in at 7.30pm in the Ennis Rd.

Cork and Kilkenny will meet the following day to complete the line up for the April 9 final. Of the remaining four, Limerick are the most recent winners (2020) with Kilkenny’s last win coming in 2018. Tipp haven’t won the league since 2008 while Cork’s last triumph came all the way back in 1998.

Tipperary, in their first campaign under Liam Cahill, won each of their five league contests, toppling Antrim in the latest to complete the perfect group stage.

Similarly, Limerick have won each of their last four league games, with the first round loss to Cork the only blot on their copybook.

On Sunday, Limerick secured their place in the knockout stages with a straightforward 2-20 to 0-15 win over Wexford with Kyle Hayes and Aaron Gillane hitting the net.

The Shannonsiderds return to the league semi-finals for the first time since 2019 when they bested Dublin in the last four before overcoming Waterford in the decider.

They retained their title 12 months later but have failed to make it out of the group in the past two years, despite going on to win the All-Ireland title in both seasons.

The League final is to be played on Sunday, April 9, two weeks prior to the start of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.
