The clash of TUS and ATU Galway is the penultimate game of the group stages with the other seven quarter-final places already confirmed.
TUS Midwest will hope to secure a second successive place in the last eight of the Fitzgibbon Cup today as they host ATU Galway. Throw in is at 2pm at the Moylish campus in a winner takes all clash.
Both were beaten by the reigning champions in their only games thus far, TUS falling to a 2-24 to 1-13 loss in Castletroy last Wednesday.

That result was one point greater than the one ATU suffered at the hands of UL which means a draw will be enough for the Galway outfit.
TUS were in a similar position last year after a first day loss to UL but recovered with a win over TU Dublin that booked a quarter-final spot with GMIT (now ATU Galway).
The Galway side came out on top that day before being bested by neighbours NUIG in the semi-finals.
TUS are the best-represented Fitzgibbon Cup side in terms of Limerick players with six players togged for the loss to UL which doesn’t include student Cathal Downes who is with the Limerick senior footballers.
Darragh Casey (Granagh Ballingarry) and Sean Long (Na Piarsaigh) started the round one defeat while Kevin Morrissey (Ahane) and Micheal Ryan (Murroe Boher) were introduced.
Michael Cremin (Newcastle West) and Marcus Hogan (Na Piarsaigh) were unused substitutes for the Limerick college.
Robin Mounsey was no doubt the star of the show for TUS as he hit 1-7 over the course of the hour including a brilliant individual goal late on. Clare senior Aaron Shanagher had a brace of points while Tipperary’s Alan Tynan added another.

Mary I were eliminated from the reckoning on Wednesday night after DCU’s one point win over IT Carlow. The Dublin side needed to beat their visitors by more than four points if Mary I were to progress. Carlow go through alongside DCU.
University of Galway finished first in group A and will be joined in the knockout stages by Barry Hennessy’s SETU Waterford as they beat MTU Cork on Wednesday evening. UCC and UCD meet tonight with both already assured of progression after beating Maynooth.
