Leinster’s Tadhg Furlong has been named the 9th best player in the world for 2017 according to the magazine Rugby World whilst Owen Farrell beats Beauden Barrett to the top spot.
A total of seven Irish players are included in the top 100 with Peter O’Mahony, 70th and Conor Murray, 21st, the only representatives on the list from Munster.
Furlong’s team mates Sean O’Brien, 32nd, Cian Healy, 92nd and Johnny Sexton, 12th, were also named in the list whilst Iain Henderson in 38th was the only representative from Ulster.
