Ardscoil Rís are into the last four of the Munster Schools Senior Cup after a 45-17 victory against Castletroy College.

Castletroy made a fine start to the game and led 10-0 close to half time through Michael O’Hanrahan’s try and five points from the boot of Sean Madden.

However, a barnstorming Daniel Okeke try brought Ardscoil back into it and Alex O’Halloran’s conversion saw Castletroy’s lead cut to three.

The second half belonged to Ardscoil as they went in for six tries to earn a stunning victory.

Lochlainn O’Keeffe and James Horrigan crossed for two tries each, while Killian Dineen and John Salmon helped themselves to a try each.

Castletroy scored the final try of the game thanks to Cillian Toland but it was scant consolation for them as Ardscoil are into the last four.

It was not all good news for Limerick schools, however, as Crescent College crashed out after a 21-19 defeat to CBC in the second quarter final at Thomond Park.

Crescent were 12-0 down after John Willis and Aaron Leahy tries but they fought to lead at the break.

Ben Carew and Maccon Casserly helped Crescent to get on level terms and then Jack Madden’s try helped them to a 19-15 lead at half time.
