WATCH: Barrett praises players following Longford win

Limerick FC enjoyed a convincing 3-1 victory over Longford Town at the Markets Field on Friday night as goals from Tomas O’Connor, Kieran Hanlon and Lee Devitt inspired the Super Blues to victory.

The result means Longford have been dragged into the play off race and Limerick are now just six points from Drogheda in second place. Despite losing four key players in the past week, Limerick have showed superb character which sees them in with an unexpected chance at a play-off place ahead of next week’s clash with Bray.

Manager Tommy Barrett was delighted for the group after the game and was happy with the convincing victory.

“Yeah it was great and I am delighted with it. The lads really worked their socks off and we got three good goals so I’m really happy.”
