WATCH: Blackrock’s Paudie Leahy keen to ‘push over the line’ in PIHC decider

Blackrock look to return to the senior ranks for the first time since the Premier Intermediate grade was launched in 2014 this Sunday against Kildimo Pallaskenry in the PIHC final.

After a disastrous year in 2018 that saw them finish bottom of the group and escape relegation after beating Feonagh in a play-off, the club has made a remarkable turnaround in 2019 and are one game away from earning senior status.

Ahead of the game, captain Paudie Leahy spoke about one of the main changes from last year’s team.

“With Jimmy bringing in so many players, we were able to have a few in-house games and things like that, something we weren’t able to do last year.”

Leahy also spoke about the privilege of captaining his side as will lead the team out this Sunday in the Gaelic Grounds for a county final.

“It’s unbelievable. I’ve been playing now for about nine years so it’s something I really want. Haven’t played in a county final for ten years so hopefully we can push over the line.”
